Good Morning Socastee!

– Today is North Carolina Day. North Carolina was first state to vote for independence from the British at the first Continental Congress. The 12th state to join the Union and has a Hispanic population of over 1 million.

-This year’s Powder Puff Game will take place on Wednesday November 15th in Braves Stadium. Ladies be on the lookout for sign-up sheets in your Class Google Classroom.

-The next UNO Club meeting will be Thursday, October 5 from 3:30-4:30 in room 307. If you have any questions, please see Coach Campbell.

– The Fall Dance is Saturday October 21st 7pm -10pm. Dance tickets are $7 until October 4th and then the price will increase. Guest Forms are available in your google classroom or at the student services desk.

-If you are applying for Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society, applications are due TOMORROW to Mrs. Rowan in Room 229. Dues will be paid once admission is granted.

-The One Love Club will be having a meeting tomorrow at 8:05AM in the main gym. We will be discussing upcoming events including our game dedications. All are welcome! If you have any questions, please see Coach Curran in the gym or Victoria Byrd, our President.

-Any student interested in Mock Trial please join us on Wednesday October 4th in room 224 after school.

– Any student interested in participating in Athletic practice or workouts, your physical must be complete on PlanetHS/BigTeams.

-Last Night The men’s cross-country team finished 3rd out of 8 teams in their meet at North Myrtle Beach last night. Michael Barrientos placed 9th overall in a time of 18:36. The women’s team also finished in 3rd place with Ella Kelly leading the way in 9th place with a time of 22:21.

-Men’s Varsity- Volleyball got a 3-1 win, defeating St. James and JV Men’s Volleyball lost to St. James 0-2

-Keesee-Smoak Player of the Game was Bradley Hinson, Men’s Volleyball. Bradley had 9 kills, 35 assists and 7 digs in the big win over St. James.

-Today our Women’s Golf team will be at Shaftsbury Glen with a 4:00 tee time against Conway.

-Our Women’s Tennis team will be down at St. James for a 5:00 match.

-Our Women’s Volleyball Teams will also be at St. James. JV 2 begins at 5:00, with JV starting at 6:00 followed by Varsity at 7:30

-Our 9th grade Football Team will be up at North Myrtle Beach for a 6:00 kickoff and our JV Football team will be at home tonight hosting the Sumter Gamecocks with a 6:30 kickoff.
