-April is Scottish Heritage Month.

WILLIAM WALLACE is one of Scotland’s most revered heroes. He began as an outlaw, but became a leader of men, taking victory over the English at Stirling Bridge in 1297. 

-Congratulations to the Socastee Singers on their first place win and superior rating at the Smoky Mountain Music Festival this past weekend.  Soloists Justin Rivera, Tessa Coy, Abbi Kipe, Parker Vile, Ella Jones, Logan Walters, Laney Barno, Mason Martin, Lis Montes, Ethan Medeiros, and Ariana Ferreiras were awarded a Certificate of Excellence for Outstanding Performance.  It was a great day to be a singing Brave!

– Seniors who have not picked up their supplies yet, please go by and see Mrs. Gifford in room 224 during 3rd or 4th block.

-Time is running out to buy a yearbook and see many of those great pictures. We are almost sold out. Go to Yearbookordercenter.com to order yours today.

-Key Club is selling beef sticks again.  Come to room 328 to buy one of 10 flavors which include Hickory, Mango Habanero and Ghost Fire.  They are 1 stick for 2 dollars and 2 sticks for 3 dollars.  See Mr. Litwhiler for any questions.

-Today is the day for Pizza. Lunch or Dinner maybe both. MOD Pizza is hosting a spirit night for DECA tomorrow. Please come out and support our members traveling to ICDC. You can order online using the code MODGIVES25 or bring in a copy of our flyer.

-The League of Women Voters will be here tomorrow during all lunches in the commons area to extend voter registration opportunities for our students. Anyone who will be 18, on or before November 5, 2024, can register to vote now and will be able to vote in the June 11 primary.  Students will need the last 4 digits of their Social Security number. Please feel free to stop by their table for additional information or questions.

-Support your Braves jazz band in their second annual jazz dinner this Friday, April 26th, from 6:00 to 8:30. Tickets are available for $10. Please see Mr. Jung or one of our Braves Band Members if you’re interested.

– Auditions for next year’s show choirs are quickly approaching on April 29 & 30!  If you are interested in auditioning to be a singing Brave, please join the Google Classroom with the code df47mow.  There are three levels of show choir, and all are welcome!  Bring your dancing feet and join an amazing team of fellow singing Braves!

-We are celebrating National School Library Month, and our library is having a Bookmark Art Contest. So come by and pick up a blank bookmark from the library and show us your original designs. Return it to the library by May 1st and you might win a Starbucks or Taco Bell Gift Card.

-Men’s Basketball workouts are Mondays and Thursdays 3:30 until 5:00 in the Main Gym.

-Cheer Tryouts begin on May 6th. We hope you are making plans to cheer on your Braves next year.

ATTENTION STUDENT-ATHLETES or Prospective Student Athletes

ALL PHYSICALS FOR THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR WILL EXPIRE ON THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL.  IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON TRYING OUT FOR AN ATHLETIC TEAM FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR YOU MUST HAVE AN UPDATED PHYSICAL DATED AFTER APRIL 1, 2024. 

FREE ATHLETIC PHYSICALS WILL BE GIVEN ON SATURDAY, APRIL 27TH   AT ST. JAMES HS. FROM 10:30AM – 1:00PM.  THIS PHYSICAL WILL BE GOOD FOR ANY SPORT NEXT YEAR.  YOU MUST HAVE A COMPLETED AND SIGNED CMC PHYSICAL CONSENT FORM IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE FREE PHYSICAL.  YOU MAY PICK UP AND RETURN THE CONSENT FORM IN THE ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM.

Women’s Varsity Soccer won their Senior Night match against West Brunswick.  Senior Carson Barfield scored 2 goals in the victory.
