Good Morning Braves!!!
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Month. Wendell Phillips said, “The heritage of the past is the seed that brings forth the harvest of the future.”

Seniors:  Bring in or email a copy of your college acceptance letters to Mrs. Kirkham in Guidance so we can put your name on our bulletin board.  We love to brag about our Braves!

Senior Athletes please stop by the Athletic Department and pick up your invitation to the Senior Athletic Banquet and Dinner.

Last week for Attendance Make-up School for underclassman is this week-
Tomorrow from 3:30 to 5:00 and Saturday from 8:00-12:00.
Attendance Make-up School for Seniors is also May 16 – May 20 from 3:15 to 5:15.

Any student with medications in the health office – please remind your parent that these must be picked up by the end of school.  These medications must be picked up by an adult and I am unable to store them over summer, so any medication not picked up by then must be destroyed.

Any student interested in Esports should see Coach Church or Coach Mol. The Gaming Guild is accepting sign-ups for next season for the following games: Rocket League, Super Smash Ultimate, and Overwatch. Also, we are looking to see who would be interested in playing the following at a competitive level: NBA2K, Madden, Hearthstone, League of Legends, and Mario Kart. Again, see Coach Church in room 204 or Coach Mol in 211 if you are interested in joining the Gaming Guild teams.

Socastee Athletic Coaches… There is a coach’s meeting in the Media Center today at 3:30.

Keesee-Smoak Player of the Night:
Rita Edge, Data Quality Clerk.  Mrs. Edge is retiring from Socastee after years of providing organization for athletics and the school in general.  When students are checking their PowerSchool grades, Rita Edge is a large part of that and enables coaches the ability to help monitor how our athletes are doing.  Thank You Mrs. Edge from Socastee Athletics.

Valerie Burgess, Front Desk. Mrs. Burgess is the smiling face that greets all our visitors as well as athletic coaches coming to visit with our athletes or athletic staff.  Mrs. Burgess has been a terrific athletics supporter and we wish her the best in retirement.

Patricia Jones, English teacher, and Virtual School English teacher.  Mrs. Jones makes a point to ask how our SHS sports teams have done and to go see her students participate on the field or court. Patricia Jones has always had a big heart for SHS and is a student advocate. Mrs. Jones is retiring at the end of this school year, and we know she will continue to be an asset to her community as she is constantly volunteering to help others.

Have a great day Braves!!!
