-Congratulations to our JROTC unit, they have been awarded the Distinguished Unit Award with Merit. This ranks their unit in the top 20% of schools nationwide. Congratulations Cadets, Chief and Colonel.
-School Improvement Council Meeting tonight 5-6pm
-The Socastee High School Bands are having their annual spring concert this evening at 6:00PM in the auditorium. Admission is FREE! Come enjoy a night out listening to performances by our jazz, concert, and symphonic bands, including the Socastee High Brass Quintet. Bring a friend and let’s pack the house!
-Our 4th annual Kickball game is tomorrow after school at the softball field. If you were too scared to sign up to play, we hope that you are making plans to come out and cheer on your players. Mr. Morales has got his face paint ready and Mr. Cruse has been working on his kicks, so we hope you are ready.
-Attendance Recovery Opportunities are done this week so make plans to be there this week to get your attendance made up. Today and Saturday are your last opportunities to recover your time.
-May 22 Commitment Day for Seniors!

-Cross Country workouts are starting on May 27 for this coming season. Fill out the interest form located on Socastee Athletics website or scan the QR codes around the building to sign up. Make sure you have your physical submitted to Planet HS! Contact Coach Litton or Coach Wilson for more information.
-Ladies Golf is starting to practice at Prestwick. Please see Coach Shoemaker if you are interested or have any questions. All paperwork needs to be updated and entered into BigTeams.
-Last night was our 3rd annual men’s vs women’s volleyball match! We had a great turnout and would like to thank all of the fans for supporting the volleyball program, including our number one fan Mr. Morales! Player of the game goes to all of our Brave volleyball players for playing an outstanding suspenseful game. The women ended up winning 3 games to 2, with the 5th set ending at 15 to 13, what a nail biter!!!!!! We look forward to the fall season!
-Track & Field: Our Track & Field banquet is tonight at 6:00pm in the Main Gym, Uniforms will be collected by Coach Stevens in room 117 from 3:30- 5:30
-Spring Sports Banquet is Thursday in the Main Gym at 6:00pm.
-The Week 34 Pools and Palms Athlete of the Week is Talin Patel, Men’s Golf. Talin competed in the state tournament and represented Socastee High well. Talin has chosen to recognize Dr. Herndon, his former English teacher. He says that Dr. Herndon has just been a great supporter and she puts students in position to be successful in a very difficult class. Dr. Herndon’s expertise in her area of ELA along with her caring of athlete’s like Talin, provide huge a impact with students well beyond high school.
