First-Ever Kickball Tournament Happening in June
The annual Junior-Senior Powderpuff Game didn’t happen this year due to the pandemic. Instead, the school will sponsor a kickball tournament for all grades on June 4.
“We usually do Powder Puff, but with social restrictions kickball allows us to remain socially distant and still have a fun event for all four classes,” said Social Studies Teacher Mr. Eric Sauthoff, who is organizing the game. “It was later approved by Principal Rich so we decided to go with it.”
Socastee High school has never done a Kickball game before. It will take place after school on the softball field the Friday before exams.
The first round will be Freshmen versus Sophomores will play one another, and Juniors vs. Sophomores. Then, the winners will play one another. In the final round, staff members will play the student winners..
Students can sign up on their class’ Google Classroom site to play or watch. It will be $1 to watch the game and $3 to be in the game (including drinks).
